Dear Course Applicant,
We are happy to accept you for the ninth Vipassana meditation course in 2014 from November 25 to December 06, organized in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam.
The course will be held at Tịnh xá Ngọc Thành, 37/12 đường 41, khu phố 6, phường Linh Đông, quận Thủ Đức, thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (No 37/12 , 41th Street, 6th Quarter, Linh Đông Ward, Thủ Đức District, HCMC).
On November 25, 2014, please plan to arrive at the course site between 1:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. (at the latest) for the registration period. A light meal will be served before the course starts.

1. CONFIRMATION IS REQUIRED
You must confirm your participation upon receiving this Letter.
From now on, if for any reasons that you are not able to attend the course, please notify us immediately so that we can arrange for another student on the wait list to take your place.
10 days before the course starts, we will send out an email to request your reconfirmation to attend the course. If you do not have an email address we will try to send a text message to your phone instead. Please do respond to our messages. In the responding emails and/or messages to us, please write your full name.
In order to preserve your enrollment in the course, please check emails regularly to timely receive responses, information, and/or requests from the registrars and the course organizers.
2. HEALTH
If there is any significant change in your physical or mental health, or medications, please notify registration. If you are presently taking medication, please remember to bring enough for the entire course.
3. CODE OF DISCIPLINE
No outside communications is allowed before the course ends. If it is absolutely necessary, the student has to obtain permission from the assistant teacher before contacting anyone outside.
Note: All students need to stay for the entire period of the course and only leave the course site after 9 a.m on December 06, 2014.

4. WHAT TO BRING
You should bring: enough comfortable and loose-fitting clothing suitable for meditation (clothes not too tight and not revealing), clothing for 10 days to minimize the need for washing; personal hygiene items: towel, shampoo/soap/detergent, toothpaste, toothbrush, toilet paper, etc; flashlight, umbrella, sleepers, prescription medicines; your own blankets, pillows, meditation cushions in case you prefer to use your own items; your Vietnamese government-issued identification card (CMND) or passport.
5. WHAT NOT TO BRING
You may NOT bring any of the followings to the course:
- Foods, intoxicants, tobacco, anesthetics, sedatives or illegal drugs
- Books, documents, pens, radios, recorders, cameras, etc.
- Animal fur, animal skin, glass balls, charms, rosaries or religious items
- Jewelry and other valuable items.
Cell phones, money, other valuables or disallowed items, if any, will be kept by the course management until the end of the course.
6. COURSE FINANCES
According to the tradition of pure Vipassana, courses are run solely on a donation basis. Donations are accepted only from those who have completed at least one ten-day course with S.N. Goenka or one of his assisting teachers. The centers have no other source of finances.
Having experienced the benefits of Vipassana, students taking the course for the first time may give a donation on the last day of the course.
7. LOCATION & DIRECTIONS
Tịnh xá Ngọc Thành is located at Tịnh xá Ngọc Thành, 37/12 đường 41, khu phố 6, phường Linh Đông, quận Thủ Đức, thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (No 37/12 , 41th Street, 6th Quarter, Linh Đông Ward, Thủ Đức District, HCMC). There are at least two ways to the site:
(1) From Thủ Đức market, take Kha Vạn Cân Street to Bình Triệu about 500 m towards the right direction.
(2) From Bình Triệu intersection, take Kha Vạn Cân Street toward Thủ Đức market about 4 km towards the left direction.
Then, you will see one end of 42nd Street, across from it is the Gas Station No.1. Then, continue for 300 m and see 41st Street which leads to Tịnh Xá Ngọc Thành. At the street end and each crossroad, there is a yellow sign “Tịnh xá.Ngọc Thành” hanging on the electricity pole. You should use public transportation because parking is very limited at Tịnh xá Ngọc Thành.
If you go by bus, there are two buses that stop at 42nd Street, are bus No. 8 and bus No. 93 (getting off at Bến Cũ station = Gas Station No. 1).

Time: from 4:40 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., every 3 to 15 minutes.
